Merry Christmas!

So I finally decorated for Christmas! I usually have these decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. This year I had my mantle to decorate on so I was pretty excited, in previous years its been blocked by the TV. I knew I wanted to do something special this year on it! I set out most of my decorations and decided to go with a red, white and green theme, pretty traditional, but I wanted a bit of a shabby chic touch to it as well. But there was still something missing. It was unbalanced and I’m definitely one for symmetry. In one of my craft blog roaming sessions, I came across this Coffee Filter Wreath tutorial and loved how it looked, I especially loved how easy it looked! And I was right, very easy and pretty quick. The thing that took the longest was separating the coffee filters! I love how it came out. I do love that big mirror over my mantle, but sometimes its daunting especially when trying to decorate. Thank goodness for recent inventions from 3M that allows me to hang something in a place I wouldn’t normally get to!

I have two throw pillows that I’ve been making covers for the holidays, here’s my Christmas covers! This year I’ve definitely been into polka dots, so naturally it’s been carried into the Christmas decor!

And now for the tree! We got a bigger tree this year and strangely enough we don’t have enough ornaments! Go figure! So I decided to fill in some of the gaps with ribbons!

I’m thinking next year I’ll go with all white lights, just not feeling the love from the multi-colored lights anymore. Or maybe I’ll do a mixture!┬áMy mother-in-law does a mixture and I love it! She is such a classy lady! This is just a picture I took really quickly this past Sunday. She has a most perfect heritage tree! It’s extremely fun for the grandkids to see all the ornaments!
