All Aboard the Polar Express!

December 16, 2015 at 2:11 pm

Prepare yourself for ultimate cuteness! Okay I may be a bit biased, but just look at those chubby cheeks and big eyes and tell me that he isn’t just ADORABLE, especially in that conductor’s uniform!!!! Makes me want to go scoop him up right now and munch on his cheeks and kiss him until he gives me that big belly laugh and tells me “No mama, ‘top!” But I won’t cause he’s sleeping right now! But oh my golly! My boy ADORES trains! Knowing this, I’ve always wanted to do a TRAIN shoot with him, but I won’t shoot on the tracks. There’s just too much at risk! As my creative juices started pumping just for this shoot, I remembered about a neighborhood train in our area! They’ve asked me not to mention who they are because they already have too many holiday passengers. But they were super nice about letting me borrow one of their trains to use for our Polar Express Shoot! He absolutely loved being the conductor of his own little train!

From our family to yours, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas this year full of Love and Believing!

Mr P’s 1 year Session

November 4, 2015 at 1:25 pm

You might recognize this little lad from his newborn session, but then again he’s changed a bit! Still cute as ever though! Mr P loves books and his mama is a teacher so naturally, we did part of his session in the library! I had never done a session in a library but I loved how they all came out! This is a busy guy, but he loved books! For the other half of the session, we went out to capture the beauty of fall, and you’ll see that he couldn’t wait to REALLY get to know all the textures fall brings! There were so many adorable photos from this fun session!

Fall Petite Session

November 4, 2015 at 1:17 pm

This was the first year I had ever done Fall Petites! And I love every minute of it, from designing the set to seeing the smiling faces on these adorable kids! I’m grateful to everyone who came out to enjoy the weather and sit on this lovely little dream! It was such a beautiful day, as I sit here freezing in my office and listening to the wind blow outside I am warmed inside by these cute smiles! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date when any deals and petite sessions will be happening!

Mr A turns 2!

September 16, 2015 at 10:29 pm

I had an impromptu studio session with my little guy on his 2nd birthday! Good thing we did cause the 2-yr theme session I have in mind may have to wait a bit! I adore this kid even though he drives me crazy! Photographing a very active 2 year old is no easy feat, but it’s even harder when there’s only one of you! So I’m super excited I got these awesome shots! This hat is a special momento from Dad’s mission to Manchester, England! See when I photographed my other son wearing it at 2 years old!

It’s great to be 8 – Mr K

August 30, 2015 at 9:02 pm

I’ve known Mr K and his family for several years and he was recently baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! This kid loves super heroes and is a bit of a super hero himself! So I had some fun with some of the shots we took! This kid started his life with a battle against cancer and has been cancer free for over 5 years! I’m amazed by this kid! Our session went absolutely wonderful! And I’m pretty sure he had just as much fun as I did! Check out these fun images below along with my version of The Tree of Life!

Mr A 18 month session

April 20, 2015 at 10:19 pm

18 months old, it is really hard to believe that he’s that old already! I am seriously boggled at how fast it’s gone! This guy, like most toddlers his age, is always on the move! But with the help of my awesomely sweet husband, I was able to get some uber cute shots of our Little with his pals from the Hundred acre wood!

I was even able to convince Big Brother and Big Sister to join in on the fun!

Miss A Portrait Session

November 10, 2014 at 7:25 pm

Sweet Miss A turned 3 months not long ago and I had the opportunity to take her sweet pictures! You may recognize her as a dragon from The B Family Portrait Session. This family is always up for an adventure and Miss A is following suit and fitting in quite well! Careful, proceed with caution, it’s easy to get lost in those big, beautiful brown eyes!

The M Kids

October 21, 2014 at 3:38 pm

This year I found a most wonderful field of long grass; just see for yourself. The day was amazing with storms rolling in the background. These kids are perfect subjects for this backdrop! Don’t you agree!? Mr O turned the big 1 and it was a great time to have an awesome session of these gorgeous kids!! This is my new favorite spot and I’m going to try and get our own family portraits taken here too! But that’s another blog post!

Mr A’s Smash Cake Session

September 12, 2014 at 1:16 pm

This was the first Smash Cake Session I have done, it’s only appropriate that it was for my own little guy! I planned on having a professional make the cake for us, but funds were running low and I just couldn’t justify spending $40 on a gorgeous cake that my baby was just going to smash up! Plus, it’s full of sugar that he doesn’t really need right?! He ADORES watermelon and I had thought at one point to sub a watermelon in the place of a cake. Though the more I thought about it….I was worried that it wouldn’t have the same impact, or that the watermelon wouldn’t be easily grabbed at, then he’d lose patience and the shoot would be over. That kids LOVES food and if it’s in front of him and not getting in his mouth one way or another, he certainly lets the world know he is unhappy! I mean look at that chunk!! It takes a lot to maintain it! So I ended up with a cake after all. Maceys Groceries actually will make free 5″ cakes for your 1 yr old! They will decorate it though, which was great but I wanted a certain color theme. My little guy loves the color orange so I wanted an orange and blue theme. In came my mother-in-law to the rescue! She makes amazing cakes for each of our birthdays. I didn’t want to ask her to make it because she was getting ready for a songwriter’s conference in Ohio. But she volunteered to make the fondant dots for me and put them on and even added a layer!! (Awww! Sweet lady! She’s the greatest Mother-in-law ever! I’m very lucky!)

Cake = Check, 1-year = Check, Photographer = Check! Venue….I was nervous enough about having to clean up a baby from all the cake…cleaning cake out of my carpet just didn’t seem fun! My studio flooring might get stained. Shower curtain? Perhaps….but I thought with these gorgeous days why not just do it outside! So we found this great little spot with this whimsical hill in the background! And the following is what we got from all that! The cute plush props and hat were given to my baby from his Auntie in NM! I just LOVE the little plush camera! It’s perfect!

I definitely had a blast with the Smash Cake session! I adore my kiddos!

Mr M turns 7!

August 22, 2014 at 11:15 am

I literally bawled when I found out I was having a boy! I didn’t think it was possible! My mom only had girls, and my sister only had girls, most of my cousins are all girls and they’ve also mostly had girls. So there are few boys in our family. I was ELATED to have a little boy! He’s been my koala-baby, my video game enthusiast and my bug/rock collector! He’s my blue-eyed wonder and my karate master!
