The A Family Returns

March 28, 2013 at 4:27 pm

You might recognize this cute little family that has grown in numbers very recently! Congratulations to the A family on their adorable little man! Unfortunately the weather was too cold to take this little one outside, so we rescheduled a mini session for their official family portraits later when the weather makes up its mind! But we wanted to capture these moments while Grandma was visiting!

So if you’ve even noticed that I haven’t updated my blog in a while, here’s why! We found out after 4 years of trying for #3….we’re finally pregnant!  My husband and I were pretty sick the day the kids wanted to do this shoot. I had bought him this cute shirt to “Pop” the big news! And it sat for too long, they just couldn’t stand it any longer. So we opted to just show them! They’re the cute ones anyway! So this is the reason my posts have been sparse. Well, the symptoms of which come with pregnancy….but I hear I’m almost out of the thick of it soon! Sure hope so!

If you’ve been following me for a while you might have seen a bit of this family before! This year they’ve added a little girl to their family! Isn’t she adorable? Both of their girls are! I’m so glad I had the honor of capturing such a wonderful time of year in their lives!

What does a photographer do when she wants a great photo of her own family? Uses a tripod or does trade with another photographer, which I was willing to do….but never got around to setting it up. A Sunday evening when the entire family was all together, we found ourselves this wonderfully awesome field and set up the tripod and camera! I love how they came out! I love that we were all together and that it took little to get it all done! The kids were so great! (Candy goes along way, as well as the prospect of getting cake and ice cream cause we were also celebrating my husband’s birthday!)

My mother-in-law raised 4 boys so she’s pretty excited to have some daughters and PINK in the family now!

These boys were born 2 weeks apart! They love each other so much! Cousins and best friends!

This is a family that is quickly becoming such great friends! They are the sweetest family! As you can see they have 4 gorgeous girls and Oh My! they’re going to be busy keeping the boys away later on!

I’m excited about showing this session for a couple different reasons, first of all, I absolutely loved working with this family! Second, they were my first referral family, which means the friend that referred them receives a $25 credit! All of them were wonderful subjects….including little Miss S! She is such a little beauty and a delight! This was a special session for them because the father came all the way from Haiti and the sister came from Boston! I was honored to work with them and capture this moment in time for them!

This is my best friend and her family. I can’t say enough about how much I love her, but I’ll spare you all the mushy sentiments. Let it be said that every Mom needs a best friend or 2 or 3, especially when her kids are young! They have 4 energetic little boys (and a  girl on the way)! I think the boys did great at the shoot!

Family is a most beautiful thing!

So I fell of the grid for a bit to spend some time with my beautiful, strong and loving Aunt who was battling brain and spinal cancer. I was able to travel down to see her and capture her last days and her family watching over her. We are all saddened to not have her here anymore but we are extremely grateful that she isn’t in pain anymore. We know that we will always have her with us and her legend and love lives on!

This was definitely a fun shoot! Not only was it with my Brother and Sister-in-law and their cute kids, but the setting was beautiful and the lighting quite gorgeous! I think you’ll agree!

Family Portrait Success!

The day didn’t start out as I would have liked it – cause I strained another muscle in my back! But it forced me to relax the rest of the day. After ice, heat, use of the hand-held massager – when the time came for us to leave for the desired location, I was feeling much better. Phew!

We met at a field in American Fork, but had to relocate to Lehi due to unforeseen circumstances! It was a good change though. The lighting was perfect at the new location when we arrived…so really what might have been looked at as a “disaster” turned out just fine. Because everyone (including the kids) were flexible with the change, including me. The shoot was very fun and as you can see they turned out beautifully! (And I found a new location to shoot in – added bonus!) Special thanks goes out to my brother-in-law, Matt, for taking our pictures!
